New series brewing »
It’s no secret that I have a small appreciation for birds. They have been the source of countless myths, deities and symbols of freedom. I started exploring this about a month ago. I was up to three paintings within a week but I had a gallery show in Oregon where they all sold and I was not able to get pictures of them. I had to start over. So here we go again.

This is one of my smaller pieces, 12″. I will be working on a smaller scale for the next couple of paintings. Peace

I have another painting in the mix. Here’s the start of the idea. I’ve become real attached to the Queztal bird so I chose to have it in this one, too. I should also mention that I’ve been on big MJ trip… take what you will from it… but that music has some energy. Blame it on a boogie!

Greetings people. I’ve been working on this for the past month and I finally finished it last week. The painting is 40″x30″ and is titled, “Where she walks is the beginning. Where she looks is the sign of the past”. I really enjoyed working on this because I knew that a story was going to develop… and for some of you guys, you know how much I like to tell stories. So let’s see what we have here; a quetzal and crow in foreground. Quetzalcoatl is in the background and then my Alert goddess in the center of it all. I already know what is going on but I would like for you people to draw your own conclusions.
I have 3 more paintings in progress as I’m getting closer to my solo show in Santa Cruz. The series for this one is getting me hyped as I’m starting to see a broader context of this style and circumstance.
Dj Drez album cover »
If you guys haven’t heard of this guys music, you need to check it out here on itunes. The link will take you to his album that is setting a new sound of hip hop and indian music. The image that I produced above is for his second Volume of Jahta beats. In order for me to paint his cover he hit me off with a copy of the music and let me tell you… it is off the hook. I’m really excited that I was able to do this cover. I hope you guys like it and please support Dj Drez… aka Doctor EZ… click here for a bigger look at it.

This was commission I did while I was up in Oregon. I spent about 6 hours on it. Little freestyle for the lady. I believe the canvas was 60″x48″
New painting »
I started a painting for someone on monday. I had to work on some other projects before I could begin on it today. I started lolli-gaggin’ for about an hour so I’m calling it quits for the evening. Once I’m finished with it I will give the low-down for who it’s for. I’m sculpting this puppy so colors may change at any moment.
The person I’m doing it for is a Disc Jockey that bridges hip hop with his yoga way of life. The blend is cool and the music that he makes with it is off the hook!

I listened to a lot of the Dead Can Dance live album. I feel like Im starting to say something with this geo-shape style. Im also mixing it in with some of my old stuff. You can see the sketch and start of the piece here.
Also check out the title and dimensions here.
New painting! »
I’ve had this one on ice for a couple of weeks now. I had to get it photographed for my records. Well if you can remember; I started this back in April and updated you here. After that I had to move into my new place and I started on other projects. it’s finished and I’m pleased with the product.
God Ra meets Gaia on her turf. Some how I have the feeling that he is trying to court her. In her stance, you can tell that she doesn’t take any slick talk. In the right hand corner is a praying mantis eating, hmmmm… I wonder what’s in store. I found myself listening to a lot of, Dead Can Dance- Toward the within (live) album. That music uploads that ethereal feeling. This was my first landscape painting utilizing the geometric style that I have been working on the past couple of years. I kind of got sidetracked and rendered a little more at certain places….mixing the old and the new. It’s definitely a new chapter in my work.
